New youth club in Aalen-Unterkochen: starting signal for the future!
A new youth club is being built in the heart of Aalen-Unterkochen, which will open its doors from September 2025. The location is the Bischof-Hefele-Haus, which has been carefully selected and prepared for the needs of the young people over the last few months. Members of the youth community council Hannah Fähnle (16) and Joel Praktiksee (14) recently presented their concerns in detail to the local council. Their commitment shows how strong the need for a contact point for young people in the region is.
In recent years, the city of Aalen has already provided youth clubs in several parts of the city. The plan for Unterkochen has been in the making for a long time, so anticipation and commitment are high. Reiner Peth, head of the city's department, and David Borst, the youth coordinator, commented positively on the suitability of the Bischof-Hefele-Haus. The start was originally planned for January 2025, but renovation work led to a delay. The local council will cover the rental costs totaling 2,400 euros from the local budget until the end of the year.
Diverse offers and participation
In the new youth center, numerous offers are to be created for young people. Particular attention is paid to designing the rooms together with interested young people. In addition to the planned activities, emphasis is also placed on participation, because as drk-kiju.de describes, the participants should be able to actively take responsibility and make decisions. This not only promotes independence, but also creates a retreat for every phase of life.
The previous youth meetings in the area, such as the open youth meeting in Dewangen or the youth center in Ebnat, already offer a wide range of activities and are accessible to all young people. The offers are free and do not require registration. This is an important aspect to ensure low-threshold access to open child and youth work (OKJA).
Commitment and future outlook
The commitment of young people like Fähnle and Praktiksee shows that the young generation is ready to get actively involved in their community. The new youth meeting place in Unterkochen will not only be a place for balance, but also a platform to develop ideas and strengthen personal and social skills. The city looks forward to a dialogue with young people to ensure that their wishes and needs are heard.
In addition to the advice and leisure activities, the youth club will also act as a contact point for questions about school and work, as the city administration plans. Considering the many opportunities available, one thing is certain: the new youth club in the Bischof-Hefele-Haus will be an important part of the social infrastructure in Aalen-Unterkochen and will offer young people a positive space to pursue their interests and develop further.
