The Laupheimer Parkbad can be happy: it was recently honored with the “Training-Friendly Pool” award. This award is presented by the Württemberg regional association of the German Life Saving Society (DLRG) and the Water Rescue Foundation. This recognizes the commitment of swimming pools to swimming education. Gerold Häußler, the technical manager of Stadtwerke Laupheim, reported a good mood during the handover on Monday, November 17th. It is particularly worth mentioning that the park pool received an award for “beginner swimming”. This shows how important swimming training is in the region and how strongly the Parkbad is committed to it.
The award, which is presented in three categories - beginner swimming, lifesaving swimming/sports and aqua fitness - aims to honor those swimming pools that pay particular attention to the training of their visitors. The second round of this award will be held in the 2024/2025 season, and it shows that swimming training remains a central concern of the DLRG. Successful record
A total of 41 pools received one or more awards in the last round. This is six more than in the previous period. Of these, 35 pools received the award for beginner swimming, 19 for lifesaving swimming/sports and 4 for aqua fitness promotion. Particularly noteworthy are the Oskar Frech SeeBad in Schorndorf and the indoor swimming pool in Baienfurt, which won all three awards [DLRG Württemberg reports].
The ceremonial presentation of the awards has already taken place in several stages, which further increases the interest in swimming training and the importance of the topic. At a time when more and more people are placing importance on water safety, there are numerous institutions that work hand in hand to advance swimming training and water rescue. The Parkbad in Laupheim is an exemplary representative of this initiative.
