Rhein-Neckar-Kreis and Taicang: Strengthening inclusion through art and education!
From Ried to Taicang – a promising journey with meaning and a future. At the end of July, a delegation from the Rhein-Neckar district headed by District Administrator Stefan Dallinger traveled to China to sign a cooperation agreement. The focus was on promoting inclusive education and the social participation of people with mental and physical disabilities. Particular emphasis was placed on the exchange of teachers in order to share knowledge and experiences in this area.
An important part of this trip was the visit to the Inclusion Factory in Taicang. Here the delegation members were able to explore innovative approaches to promoting social participation. A visit to the German Embassy in Beijing was also on the program. An exchange took place between Dallinger and Arend Wulff about German-Chinese cooperation, which underlines the importance of such international relations.
Art connects cultures
Another highlight of the trip was a visit to an art exhibition in Taicang, which was entitled “BORDLESS – 50 years of art in the Rhein-Neckar district”. This exhibition shows works from the Rhein-Neckar district's art collection, which was curated by art expert Julia Philippi together with local partners. The exhibition, which has been running since June and is open until the end of October, is very popular and attracts visitors from the region.
“The partnership with Taicang is of great importance for both sides,” said District Administrator Dallinger. He emphasized the possibility of setting accents for the benefit of both partners through such projects and promoting exchange in the cultural and social areas.
Economic prospects
In addition to cultural exchange, economic cooperation also played a central role. Information about economic relations between Germany and China was discussed at the German Center in Shanghai. A specific investment project was presented by Familienheim Rhein-Neckar in cooperation with Skylark Capital Limited, which aims to further promote economic exchange.
In the course of these economic discussions, it was also important to provide information about the technical possibilities that are often used in production processes. These include, for example, CNC machines that are used in many areas such as mechanical engineering or the automotive industry. These computer-controlled machines cover a wide range, including CNC milling machines, CNC laser cutters and CNC printers, helping to increase efficiency and precision in production. There are a total of 15 different types of CNC machines that offer a wide range of possible uses.
The delegation trip represents not only a cultural but also an economic milestone for the Rhine-Neckar district and promotes small and large connections between the people in Germany and China. While Dallinger and his delegation return, the question remains: What happens next on this promising path of cooperation?
