ThSV Eisenach secures relegation – emotions are the key to success!

The current season was a complete success for ThSV Eisenach thsv-eisenach.de determines. Just eight match days before the end of the season, the team secured relegation in the 18 league. With 27 plus points and a goal difference of 1047:1050, the team took 11th place. An impressive achievement!

Coach Misha Kaufmann emphasizes that the success was based on a good mix of emotions, humility, willingness to fight and focus. The team was particularly able to shine with 8:2 points between October 28th and November 28th, 2024. Highlights were impressive victories against MT Melsungen (32:21) and Rhein-Neckar Löwen (36:32), as well as an exciting draw against Flensburg (39:39).

The audience love and the hall

The Werner-Aßmann-Halle was almost sold out, despite a reduced capacity of only 2,800 spectators for safety reasons. With an occupancy rate of 98 percent, demand was high - audience requests significantly exceeded the capacity of the hall. Christian Prokop, coach of TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, and Maik Nowak, coach of ThSV Eisenach, praised the special atmosphere during the games.

An exciting topic is the signing of Silvio Heinevetter, who returns from TVB Stuttgart and watched ThSV home games in his childhood. This decision noticeably increased media interest and social media activity around the club. The future of the club also seems secure, as managing director Rene Witte reports that the license was granted without any conditions.

A look at the coming season

The club management plans to further develop and professionalize the traditional club. The contracts of managing director Rene Witte, sporting director Maik Nowak and trainer Misha Kaufmann have been extended long-term until 2029 and 2027 respectively. The squad for the 2024/25 season will be exciting: After the departure of top scorer Manuel Zehnder to SC Magdeburg, the team is still well positioned.

New additions to the squad include the promising goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter and the right winger Gian Attenhofer from HSC Suhr Aarau. Those responsible are hoping to strengthen the defense with defender Rok Maric, who has Champions League experience. Talented returnees such as Fynn Hangstein and the dynamic playmaker Filip Vistorop should also give the team new impetus.
