The MHP giants Ludwigsburg have caught a real dream player! n-tv reports that 25-year-old point guard Stefan Smith has signed a one-year contract and is moving from top French club Cholet Basket to Ludwigsburg. This makes him the third import player for the coming 2025/2026 season and the tenth player overall in head coach Mikko Riipinen's squad.
Stefan Smith will play a key role for the MHP Riesen next season. Last season at Cholet Basket, where he was an integral part of the team, he played 51 competitive games and averaged 11.7 points, 2.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game. At Cholet, he contributed significantly to the team's success, which finished fourth in the French LNB Pro A and reached the semi-finals of the FIBA Europe Cup. This means he has qualified for the Basketball Champions League.
