Biennale Sindelfingen celebrates freedom and culture on the Goldberg!

On June 30, 2025, the time had finally come: The Biennale Sindelfingen was officially opened and attracts numerous visitors with its motto "Freedom and Responsibility". This event, which took place at the Goldberg Festival, lasts until July 26 and offers over 80 individual events that promise a varied and demanding program. According to Esslinger Zeitung is the thematic focus on the memory of the peasant war, which took place near the Sindelfinger Goldberg 500 years ago.

A highlight of the Biennale is the re-consecration of the Goldberg sculpture path, which was recently restored. These works of art come from a student initiative 25 years ago, which manages to combine the past with the present. Special lectures and tours of the exhibition were led by the artists Gucca de Lucca Villacis, Rudi Weiss and Karl Heger. Villacis explained the scope of his work "Peasant War", while Weiss addressed the preservation of his work of art "peasant victim". Heger presented the steles of his work "with a stem and stump". A common flyer with Böblingen is created for a comprehensive presentation of the work.

Markus Nau, the head of the cultural office, was enthusiastic about the campaign and the commitment of the former and current cultural workers. Air lock cannons were ignited for the opening, which underlined the happy mood. On Sunday, the Goldberg Festival continued with many other activities, which not only celebrated local art, but also the neighborly and bourgeois cohesion in Sindelfingen.

Another highlight of the Biennale is the premiere of the dance theater "human material" in the Church of Reconciliation, which was organized together with the Evangelical Church. In a first cooperation with the citizens' association, the play "The good person of Sezuan" was also performed in this special environment. The Biennale has thus profiled itself as a platform for linking volunteer work on site with external artists, and several hundred people have participated in it, so that the anticipation for the next four weeks is justified.
