Schwäbisch Gmünd, Deutschland - The general German bicycle club (ADFC) has completed its extensive bicycle climate test 2024 and the results are now available. 173 citizens from Schwäbisch Gmünd took part in the survey. The city can look forward to 86 in the ranking of 113 places tested in the category for cities with 50,000 to 100,000 inhabitants, with an overall grade of 4.26. For comparison: the neighboring Aalen cut off much better and ended up in 17th place, while Waiblingen took 48th place. Remszeitung reports.
The survey took place from September to November 2024 and is part of one of the largest surveys on the bicycle situation in Germany. Overall, over 212,818 participants from 1,047 locations have given their assessment. Satisfaction with the cycling conditions is covered in the local conditions. The feedback is important for traffic planners and political managers in order to initiate suitable improvements in the infrastructure. ADFC explains that the results can also be viewed via an interactive card.

But the cycle path widths were perceived as insufficient with 4.70 and the control of false parkers with 4.69. The tour of construction sites also performs poorly at 4.65. In comparison to the ADFC bicycle climate test 2022, Schwäbisch Gmünd has not improved.
