Pure excitement: Patrick-Lengler-Cup brings handball top teams to Schwetzingen!
Schwetzingen, Deutschland - The countdown is running: On July 25th and 26th, 2025, the Nordstadthalle in Schwetzingen is transformed into a handball mecca. Four top-class teams from the first handball league present themselves under the name Patrick-Lengler-Cup: the Rhein-Neckar Löwen, Frisch on Göppingen, TV Großwallstadt and as a crowning host the HG Oftersheim/Schwetzingen. Martin Schmitt, the sports director of the HG, is pleased with the strong field of participants and the exciting competition that promises the games. So reports Handball World about the preparations.
The cup is traditionally held in honor of the sports enthusiast Patrick Lengler, who died in 2011. The handball fan and player lost his struggle against leukemia, which triggered a wave of solidarity - in 2010 5,500 people were typed as stem cell donors to help Patrick and other patients. During these encounters, not only sport is celebrated, but also the memory of a great person is preserved.schedule and ticket information
