New trial against Reichsbürger: Focus on arms camp in Mosbach!
Boxberg, Deutschland - The Mosbach district court has set new appointments for a trial against five alleged supporters of the “Reichsbürger” scene, which are in the fire line for illegal gun ownership. The start of the trial for the accused, including the family of the well -known "Reichsbürger" Ingo K., is now scheduled for July 28, 2023. Before that, they should be released in May, but remained unexcused, which prevented the start of the process. This is reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung .
The accused are Heiko A., his wife, two sons and the partner of a son. They are suspected of having nine firearms, including a quick -fire rifle, in April and May 2022. In the case of a police operation in Boxberg, which was necessary due to Ingo K.'s unauthorized ownership, an escalation occurred. K. opened the fire on the officials and injured two. The weapon camp was found on an area that the accused shared, and according to the public prosecutor's office also includes 38 cannabis plants that were grown by two of the accused.
The background of the police operation
The police operation in question in April 2022 was originally intended to collect a pistol at Ingo K., but the situation was out of control. The officials faced a considerable arsenal of weapons, including fully automatic rifles and a large amount of ammunition. Part of the residential building in which the weapons were stored burned down during use. Ingo K. was ultimately sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison in November 2023. Heiko A. and his wife also denied the statement in this procedure, report the SWR Aktuell .
The Karlsruhe public prosecutor assumes that Heiko A. and his family not only content themselves with gun ownership, but were also active in cannabis cultivation. The indictment includes violations of the Weapons Act and the War Weapons Control Act, which can result in punishments of up to five years in prison. Behind the process is a climate that reflects the radicalization of such groups in Germany.
The "Reichsbürger" scene in numbers
In Baden-Württemberg, the number of "imperial citizens" and self-government grows. In 2023 it amounts to around 4,000 people, and around 25,000 nationwide. About 10 percent from this milieu are considered violent, the threat of the "imperial citizens" is assessed as high. This group rejects the Federal Republic of Germany and its democratic structures and contributes to the general uncertainty.
If the accused are further confronted with the legal consequences of their actions, the process before the Mosbach district court will be exciting to observe in the next few weeks. Five negotiation dates are scheduled and a first judgment could already be announced on August 8, 2023 if the legal situation does not change.
