Lions Club Böblingen: Secure 5,000 euros for social projects!
A new support framework for social projects has been launched in Böblingen. The Lions Club Böblingen-Schönbuch has started the fundraising campaign for projects that make a lasting contribution to the community, especially for children, young people and groups in need. A total of up to 5,000 euros will be awarded to the best projects that can be submitted by January 31, 2026. The call for proposals is part of the “Schönbuch Löwe” competition, which will culminate in February or March 2026 with an awards ceremony at which the entries will be honored in the gold, silver and bronze categories. This information is reported by Stuttgarter Nachrichten.
Those interested have the option to simply send their applications by email schoenbuchloewe@lions-bbs.de to transmit. In the past, the Lions Club has distributed over 35,000 euros to social projects and institutions. Examples of this include projects such as the creation of a biotope for the Youth Research Center for Energy and Environment, the outpatient children's and youth hospice service of the Böblingen Ecumenical Hospice Service and the Gift Table Sunday Dinner initiative.
Important dates and measures
The initiators emphasize that it is important to support projects that actually have a lasting impact on the common good. The three most worthy projects are selected by a jury made up of members of the Lions Club and other supporters. The aim is not only to offer financial help, but also to strengthen and promote local social structures.
In addition to the financial support, the “Future Impulses” lecture series will also be continued. On May 13, 2025, the managing director of Innovationsquartier Oldenburg GmbH, Torsten Schröder, will give a lecture in the Restaurant/Hotel Waldhorn in Holzgerlingen. The topic will deal with cooperation between German research and business. Admission is free and all donations go to social projects. However, registration is required for this, either via form or by email kilianasangana@gmail.com.
The Lions Club initiative shows that a strong community is committed to helping disadvantaged groups and providing new impetus for a better future. The campaigns are firmly anchored in the city's calendar and offer exciting opportunities for everyone who wants to make a difference.
