According to the Prognos Future Atlas 2025, it is the most sustainable circle in the region and occupies the excellent fifth place nationwide among 400 city and counties. It shows clearly that the performance of the district is not only very popular in southern Germany, while the districts of Munich, Erlangen and the city of Munich occupied the first three ranks.

The district of Böblingen even improved by a place compared to the last ranking in 2022. District Administrator Roland Bernhard is happy about the strong position and emphasizes how important this placement is for the economic development of the region. Particularly noteworthy is the position in the field of competition and innovation, in which the district lands in fourth place among the Southwest districts-an improvement in fifth place in 2022. The strategic orientation of the district economy promotion, which has been working on the "Future Strategy of Economic District" since 2018, shows first successes.

strong performance and potential for improvement

The rankings are based on four central subject areas: demography, labor market, competition and innovation as well as prosperity and social situation. While the district of Böblingen shines in the field of competitiveness, there is still room for improvement in the demographic area. Here the district fell from number 132 to 137. Nevertheless, Böblingen made a remarkable jump in the labor market ranking, from 21 to 6th place. This shows that the companies in the region position themselves well and also attract new workers.
