50,000 euros for children's cooking mobile: A legacy for the future!
On Wednesday afternoon, the children's cooking mobile (KiKoMo) in the eastern part of Karlsruhe awaits a special moment: a check for 50,000 euros will be ceremoniously presented. The wooden trailer, located behind the Maccaroni Circus between a gym and other activities, is a popular stop for children of all ages. Today, adults are also active here to support the little chefs.
The magnificent sum comes from the estate of Elfriede and Helmut Morlock, who have decided to dedicate their inheritance to charitable purposes. This donation will not only be used for KiKoMo, but will also flow into other important initiatives in Karlsruhe, such as the children's gymnastics world and the Auenzwergpfad in Rappenwört. According to Karlsruhe.de, the children's cooking mobile is organized on a voluntary basis and is financed exclusively through donations from parents, suppliers, institutions and project partners.
With great passion and commitment
The KiKoMo is more than just a mobile cooking machine; It offers children the opportunity to learn how to handle food in a playful way and at the same time conjure up delicious dishes. The term “whole grain” is often introduced and is becoming more and more widespread in everyday life. Kikomo-Karlsruhe.de emphasizes that whole grain products are not only healthier, but also promote children's awareness of a balanced diet.
Another important aspect of kitchen practice that finds its place in KiKoMo is kitchen hygiene. From the importance of washing hands to the conditions in which chickens are kept when buying eggs, the children are taught how to treat food and nature responsibly. Practical lessons are also not neglected: kitchen professionals recommend using a non-slip surface when cutting to avoid injuries.
A focus on shared values
KiKoMo has set itself the goal of offering children and young people valuable access to nutrition. In order to support such valuable projects, collaboration with clubs and organizations is essential. The Education Foundation shows that the non-profit status of associations is an essential prerequisite for receiving funding. After submitting documents such as corporate tax returns and surplus invoices, these associations can request an exemption from the tax office, which is important for many initiatives.
The loving and motivated work behind KiKoMo makes this facility a jewel in Karlsruhe. It is a place where children can learn through play and where, at the same time, support through generous donations makes a decisive contribution to the education and nutrition of young people. A big thank you to all supporters who help keep KiKoMo running and strengthening it!
