Swimming rescue: 13 Kressenbronn fight for your indoor pool!
Next Sunday, July 22, 2025, 13 swimmers from Kressbronn and the surrounding area have embarked on an extraordinary mission: they want to cross Lake Constance from the Altenrhein estuary in Switzerland to Kressbronn. The route of about 10 kilometers is started early in the morning, and when arriving in the Kressbronn lido, the group plans a festival to found the new sponsorship “Pro Hallenbad Kressbronn”. This campaign has an important goal: the rescue of the indoor pool in Kressbronn, which is about to close.
The swimming campaign is startedwith an urgent banner that bears the message “Your Bathroom - Your Home - Your Work”. The members of the local swimming club want to set an example with this campaign, not only to maintain their indoor pool, but also to inspire other communities in the region, to fight for their own swimming opportunities. Because the condition of the indoor pool is alarming: the renovation costs amount to around ten million euros - a sum that the community alone cannot manage, as Mayor Daniel Enzensperger (CDU) emphasizes.
The meaning of the indoor pool
The indoor pool in Kressbronn is of central importance for the community. It serves the family, the clubs and is an important location for swimming lessons. With a recently carried out panel discussion on the future of the indoor pool, citizens brought up the essential role of the bath. The establishment of the support association, which is also announced on the upcoming swimming campaign, is intended to mobilize donations from private individuals, companies and foundations. The funds collected are essential to promote the urgently needed renovation and to secure the bathroom in the long term.
As the local reporting from SWR reports, the support of the state of Baden-Württemberg and donations from the population is considered necessary. The renovation of the 50 -year -old indoor pool, which is now on the brink, is to be started. An end would not only result in the closure of the indoor pool, but also the loss of an important social meeting point in the community.
an example of commitment
There are many communities across the country that are faced with similar challenges with their bathrooms. Industry experts like Marco Hortz have repeatedly pointed out that higher profitability and customer orientation are necessary to maintain and promote the public swimming pool landscape. A citizens' initiative such as those in Kressbronn could serve as a shining example of how communal commitment and will can move a lot. The Kressbronn swimmers become a symbolic figure for all those who work tirelessly for their needs and the preservation of their homeland.
Now it is up to the community and the citizens to not only feel the wave of support, but also to convert it into action. The founding of the support association could be the first, crucial step. Not only could the local indoor pools be saved, but also created a broad basis for more commitment to the population. A good hand in the design of the future is now required!
