Emotional musical show inspires Schwäbisch Gmünd: standing ovations!

On November 1, 2025, the Peter Parler Hall in Schwäbisch Gmünd experienced a rousing musical show, organized by the Liederkranz Weiler and the Ensemble Stimmekultur. Under the motto “Everything Musical”, the hall quickly filled up and the audience could look forward to a varied program. The event was sold out and received thunderous applause and a standing ovation, underlining the impressive performance of artists and performers. Loud Gmünder daily post Kathrin Bechstein took over the artistic and musical direction and staged a program that included hits from legendary musicals such as “The Greatest Showman” and “The Phantom of the Opera”.

In the first part of the show it was mainly the well-known songs “This Is Me” and “This is the Greatest Show” that captivated the audience. The performances were characterized by powerful singing, impressive dance choreographies and a strong stage presence. Soloists such as Sebastian Grimm, Maximilian Stütz, Daisy Mauser, Marie Feifel, Doro Dehling and Lea Hann contributed significantly to the deep emotionality of the performance. Detlef Dietrich humorously led through the program and ensured an entertaining evening.

Emotional highlights and dramatic productions

The second part of the show was dedicated to the dramatic and emotional elements of “The Phantom of the Opera.” Here Lea Hann shone in the role of Christine Daaé, while Michael Pick appeared as Phantom and Maximilian Stütz as Raoul. Daisy Mauser, Agnes Pick, Jacqueline Waibel, Sebastian Grimm and Bertram Frisch were also seen in other important roles in this part. The entire ensemble was supported by elaborate costumes, an atmospheric stage design and appropriate lighting and sound technology, supervised by Horst Linke. Grete Thomas lovingly took care of the costume design, while the ballet from Sabine Widmann Studios under the direction of Liz Duddy rounded off the overall picture with elegant dance performances.

The performance was described by audience members as emotional, professional and enthralling, and it's no wonder the artists pulled out all the stops to create an unforgettable evening.

Stone Fruit Recall Due to Health Risks

The recall affects fresh fruit sold between May 1 and November 15 of last year and this year. Major retailers such as Publix, Walmart and Aldi are affected. It is advised to discard frozen fruits that may be affected, while fresh, unpackaged stone fruits in stores are not affected. Symptoms of a listeria infection range from fever to muscle discomfort to confusion and can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women and the elderly.

In these turbulent times it becomes clear how important it is to take care of your own health while at the same time enjoying the cultural highlights such as the fascinating musical show in Schwäbisch Gmünd.
