New management team in the Ostalbkreis: Fischer and Wieser are getting started!
In a significant step for the administration of the Ostalbkreis, two new division heads were elected at the last meeting of the district council on July 7, 2025. Peter Fischer and Vanessa Wieser will in future take over the management of the information and communication division and the municipal office. District Administrator Dr. Joachim Bläse warmly welcomes the new managers and congratulates them on their new positions.
Peter Fischer has extensive training as an administrative assistant. He passed the employee examination II at the Karlsruhe administrative school and gained valuable experience in the communities of Spraitbach and Mutlangen. Most recently, he worked as deputy head of the district administration's IT department, where he dealt with the challenges of digitalization.
Vanessa Wieser, the new force in the local authority
There is also exciting news from Vanessa Wieser. She will be the main office manager in Blaubeuren from October 2023, taking over the position from Adrian Holl, who is leaving the administration for family reasons. Wieser, who is 27 years old and comes from the Ostalbkreis, has an impressive background. She completed her bachelor's degree in public management and was a treasurer in Lauchheim for five years. There, she was responsible, among other things, for converting household accounting to Doppik and implementing the digital pact with schools.
During her time as chamberlain, she also took on the role of registrar and conducted weddings at the majestic Kapfenburg Castle. Based on her experiences, Wieser sees a move to full-time work as a welcome step that reflects her “passion” because she sets herself high goals and challenges.
The challenges of digitalization
In the newly created role as head of the municipal office, Wieser will not only contribute her technical knowledge but also her enthusiasm for digital topics. Digitalization is fundamentally changing the public service. In this way, new possibilities such as automated administrative processes and digital administrative processes are being promoted in the federal administration. Therefore, skilled workers with digital know-how are required. This transformation requires not only IT specialists, but also project managers and change managers who drive the implementation of efficient systems. The federal career blog comprehensively discusses how digital platforms facilitate access to information and services for citizens.
Vanessa Wieser is aware of the challenges and opportunities that digitalization brings with it. She sees Blaubeuren as an attractive employer, not only because of the higher number of residents, but also because of the wider variety of topics and a larger workforce. During her secret visit to a city council meeting, she was positively surprised by the culture of debate and the city's cohesion.
The replacement of these key positions in the Ostalbkreis gives hope for a future-oriented administration that is both up to the challenges of digital transformation and is led by committed and qualified people.
