Rea Garvey returns after 26 years: Open-Air concert in Heidenheim!
On August 31, 2025, the time has finally come: Rea Garvey, the former front singer of "Reamonn", comes back to Heidenheim after 26 years. This comeback takes place as part of the Brenzpark Open-Air, and the musician brings with his excessive new album "Halo". "It is surreal for me to come back after all the time," said Garvey in an interview. Memories of his first appearances in the Irish Pub "Molly Malone’s" come up, where he made a living as a young musician and lived out his passion for music. Back then, in 1999, Garvey played in small pubs and dreamed of a large audience.
A lot has changed since then, and the breakthrough for "Reamonn" came in 2000 with the hit "Supergirl". Garvey reflects on the beginnings and the changes that success brought with it. "It was a hungry and motivated time. I am grateful and humble for what I was able to experience," he says. Despite his fame, however, he kept a strong connection to his roots. "I don't miss the little pubs, but the memories are priceless," he adds.
The Halo Tour and the Open Air festival
The upcoming concert tour is not only a tribute to its beginnings, but also promises a varied program for fans. "The Brenzpark Open-Air will be a big experience for everyone," says organizer Siggi Schwarz. Garvey will offer a musical journey with his Halo tour over two decades and present both new hits and classics of his career live. The setlist was specially adapted for the Heidenheim audience to create a deeper connection.
The festival takes place over three days, with the highlight of Rea Garvey. Previously, on August 29, "SWR1 pop & poetry in concert" and the band "PUR" on August 30th. Tickets for the events are available in advance and the demand is already high.
The message of "Halo"
Rea Garvey would like to convey light, hope and strength with his current album "Halo", especially in difficult times. Songs such as "Free Like the Ocean", "Somewhere Close to Heaven" and "Perfect in My Eyes" are proof of its ability to create emotional and gripping music. "Music has the strength to touch heart," emphasizes Garvey. "I hope that my music can donate a little luck and trust in these challenging times."
Overall, the Brenzpark Open-Air not only promises a great music event, but also a look back at an impressive career and a celebration of the community. The event is accompanied by other artists who are still announced. Tickets are already available via Ticketmaster, and the anticipation on Garveys return is noticeable.
