KiKiBi celebrates 20 years: A celebration for Biberach's children's choir!

On October 25, 2025, the time had come: the KiKiBi children's choir celebrated its 20th anniversary in the St. Blasius Church in Biberach with a heartfelt celebratory service. The little singers showed with great enthusiasm how important their active role in the church community is to them. It was a celebratory occasion characterized by community and music.

KiKiBi was founded two decades ago by Claudia Rieger and Anke Haas to enable children to participate in community life. Since the beginning of this initiative, the choir has been firmly anchored in the Biberach parish and enriches the life of the community through numerous performances and musical contributions. The musical and organizational direction is currently in the hands of Sonja Große, who also conducts the Choir for All. Ilka Heizmann, the educational and organizational manager, supports the children's choir together with her family and has the goal of involving even more school children and creating special offers for this age group.

A festive service with a vision

The celebratory service not only took place on the important World Mission Sunday, but was also dedicated to the suffering children in Myanmar who are suffering from the consequences of the civil war. Despite a cold, Pastor Gerner took over the pastoral care and promised the children that he would appreciate their commitment. At the same time, the KiKiBi children presented a donation poster and explained their important message to the community.

The musical performances were characterized by a lot of movement and joy of life. Under the rousing direction of Ilka Heizmann and Sonja Große, the choir filled the church with an energetic atmosphere that carried away everyone present. How impressively they touched the audience is also shown by the impressive performances that the children's choir has been able to put on over the years.

Volunteering in the community

Parallel to the KiKiBi, the Biberach church choir provides musical accompaniment during the church year. Under the direction of Johannes Striegel, this choir organizes festivities such as parish festivals and services on Pentecost, Corpus Christi and All Saints' Day. At Easter and Christmas special accents are also set by changing orchestral masses. Here, too, the focus is on voluntary commitment and discipline during rehearsals.

We would like to thank all choir singers for their tireless support during the annual St. Cecilia celebration and invite those interested to come to the rehearsal every Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the Sennhof Hall. In the community you experience the interplay of voices and togetherness in a very special way. For the two choirs, KiKiBi and the Biberach church choir, the following applies: Singing together is not just a hobby, but a part of lived community.

As the celebrations of KiKiBi's 20th anniversary show, commitment to music and the community is very popular in Biberach. And hopefully this will continue for many years to come.
