Lorenz Laux shines despite the injury: Top placement at DM in the art bike!

At the German student championships in the art road, unicycle, bike ball and cycling polo held in Wiesbaden last weekend, there was a lot to celebrate for the participants from Baden-Württemberg. The RC Delkenheim was the host and offered an excellent framework for exciting competitions. The athletes from RMSV Bad Schussenried were particularly in the spotlight, which, despite difficult circumstances, showed remarkable achievements.

Twelve days after a break in the index finger, Lorenz Laux from Bad Schussenried brave bravely in a competition. With an initial value of 83.00 points, he presented an impressive program and finally reached 71.95 points. He secured fourth place, just behind the medal winners, which took the following placements:

  • 1. Philip Schnepf (RRKV Nordheim) - 110.70 points
  • 2. Aaron clarified (RSV Öschelbronn) - 107.35 points
  • 3. Leon Schmiedl (RMSC Schwabach) - 82.57 points

strong achievements of the Schussenried students

Lina Striegel, also from RMSV Bad Schussenried, delivered impressive moments in her competition. It started in a total of 23 participants in the first block of the students. With an initial value of 84.00 points, her program was promising, but during a headstand she lost a gymnastics shoe. Despite this little breakdown, she mastered her exercises properly and scored 67.56 points, which brought her 19th place. The medals went to the following athletes:

  • 1. Marlene Engelkemeier (RSV Tempo Lieme) - 106.06 points
  • 2. Kim Zarnetzki (RV Nufringen) - 97.73 points
  • 3. Emmy Hoffmann (RSV Tempo Lieme) - 87.13 points

Another highlight of the championships was the great success of the RMSV Aach, which was able to come up with a remarkable record of four gold medals and two silver places. Under the direction of head coach Katja Gaißer, the association was recognized as the most successful German indoor cycling club. A special highlight was the Aacher Quartet, which won the DM title in the 4-way bike of the students with 133.03 points. The 6 Series also delivered an impressive performance with 126.37 points and also secured first place.

The championships were not only a platform for individual performance, but also a great success for the clubs from the region.
