Seniors in Hockenheim: walking meeting point for exercise and socializing!

In Hockenheim there is now a wonderful opportunity for older people who would like to get some fresh air and chat while taking a leisurely walk. The city of Hockenheim's senior citizens' office has launched a walking club that is specifically aimed at people with walking frames or wheelchairs. The meeting not only aims to promote sociability, but also to support the mobility of the participants and offer them a platform for networking. MRN News reports that this walking meeting takes place every first and third Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m.

The next date has already been set: On June 18, 2025, the participants will meet at the Hockenheimer Schwätz-Bänkle at the tithe barn. During a walk that lasts just under an hour, participants can enjoy the idyllic nature of Hockenheim. There is plenty of seating for breaks so that everyone can take part at their own pace. However, it should be noted that no trained supervisors accompany the walk. Therefore, participants should be able to handle their assistants or wheelchairs independently. For people who need support, it is recommended that they bring a companion with them.

Participation and registration

Participation in the walking meeting is at your own risk and prior registration is desirable for better planning. Anyone interested can contact Kerstin Berger by phone at 06205 21-1503 or by email at seniorenbuero@hockenheim.de. Registration is particularly important to ensure that everyone can be well looked after and that spontaneous participation is possible, even if no prior registration has been made.

How Schwetzinger newspaper explains, participants should also make sure to confirm their registration if necessary so that everything runs smoothly. In case no confirmation email has been received, it is advisable to check the spam folder or contact customer service.

In summary, it can be said that the walking club in Hockenheim offers an inviting opportunity for seniors to stay active and make new acquaintances at the same time. The fresh air and the sociable atmosphere make this initiative an excellent opportunity to brighten up everyday life and exchange ideas with like-minded people.
