Football tournament and water battle: students celebrate big winners!

In Hockenheim, an exciting football tournament was held on July 15, 2025 in the Rudolf-Harbig-Halle, which was organized by the school with the school with the school on Kraichbach. A total of 48 students took part from classes one to nine and were drawn into two teams - red and blue. The participation of the girls in the first and second classes, who could rely on the support of four teachers, was particularly gratifying.

The girls and boys competed against each other in several exciting duels. After a total of five games played, the winner was determined: Team Blau prevailed with 12: 6. Student spokesman Alexander El Ghrawi emphasized that all students had a fair chance of winning. Liaison teacher Tony Vellappallil emphasized the excellent support between the older and younger students.

In order to appreciate the performance of the participants, all students received medals. This not only caused bright eyes, but also a feeling of community. The event went beyond the football tournament: after the sporting competitions, an exciting water battle took place in the school yard. Environmentally friendly water bombs made of silicone were used, which contributed to the waste prevention.

The combination of sporting activity and pleasure reflected the wishes of the students who had previously been expressed in a student meeting. In addition to the football tournament, the classes also asked for a Halloween celebration and additional play opportunities. Headmistress Constanze Frisch was enthusiastic about the great commitment of the SMV and the positive atmosphere throughout the event.

The joy was not only noticeable on the part of the students and teachers, but also with the many spectators who cheered on the teams. "The students really demonstrated a good hand and supported each other - that is a joy to look at!" a teacher is quoted.

For the school community, this day was not only a sporty highlight, but also an expression of cohesion and team spirit. The great success of the tournament and the subsequent water battle once again shows how important such community actions are for the students and what positive energies they can release. Further actions are already being planned in order to continue to meet the wishes and needs of the students in the future.
