Autumn concert in Morsbach: Musical journey through time with conductor Sakano!
A musical highlight is coming up in the small community of Morsbach on October 25, 2025: the autumn concert of the Morsbach-Holpe music group. Under the motto “Musical journey through time”, conductor Noriko Sakano invites you to an unforgettable evening in the cultural venue at Hahner Straße 31. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and is opened by the kids orchestra in the first half. Tickets are available for ten euros and promise musical enjoyment for the whole family.
Director Lars Leidig, who plays the tuba in the orchestra and began his musical career in the kids' orchestra at the age of nine, emphasizes the importance of supporting young talent. “It’s great to see how many families have been part of our ensemble for three generations,” he emphasizes. This family tradition ensures that the enthusiasm for music is passed on for years and new talents are encouraged.
A conductor with passion
Noriko Sakano, who has been leading the orchestra for a year, is originally from Japan and studied music in her hometown of Kyoto. She continued her training in Munich and Trossingen. Sakano particularly appreciates the family atmosphere of the music group and the members' enthusiasm for playing. “It gives me great pleasure to work with this great team,” said the conductor. Their commitment to the orchestra is reflected in the intensive preparation time for the concert, during which they rehearse diligently.
At a time when many cultural workers are struggling with financial problems, supporting music is particularly important. For example, the director of the Oberschleißheim Adult Education Center (VHS), Gerda Hepting, complains about the low fees for course instructors who take care of the community's arts education. Her institution recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the music department, which has more than 270 students - a doubling since Hepting took office 20 years ago. She is proud of the commitment of her lecturers and hopes for better financial conditions in order to expand the offering even further.
The example of the VHS Oberschleißheim shows how important spaces are for creative work. The Morsbach-Holpe music circle also benefits from solid work and has set itself the goal of inspiring and supporting both old and young musicians. Especially now, as preparations for the concert are in full swing, it is clear that there is great value in passing on musical knowledge and experience.
On October 25th in Morsbach there will not only be great music to hear, but also a piece of community and family tradition to experience. It's worth marking the evening in your calendar!
