Successful Unified soccer team inspires with record participation!
At the last matchday of the "Unified Team" of the Weinstadt sports community and the Diakonie Stetten, the damped jubilation became loud! The kickers from the Remstal demonstrated their great performance and celebrated a clear victory in the Benzach stadium under the enthusiastic look of many spectators. This shows once again how much passion and enthusiasm is in this inclusive team. The group, mixed with the Special Olympics participants, has set up a lot since its foundation in 2019, and fans can do lucky to support such a team. The Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported on the record participation of the UNIFIED with 24 players: 10 with and with and 14 without disability, which promotes remarkable integration into sport.
The recent successes of the team are not only due to training. Every Monday you meet for an hour and a half, even on vacation, to improve the skills and strengthen team spirit. Coach Sebastian Müller emphasizes that the motivation of the players and the closed appearance of the teams are decisive for success. It is amazing how many spectators, even from outside the club, visited the game. Even the President of the Rems-Murr sports group, Simone Schneider-Seebeck, was on site and enjoyed the great atmosphere.
great success in the Special Olympics
A great success was not long in coming! Recently, the football finals of Special Olympics Baden-Württemberg took place in the sports grounds of MTV Stuttgart, and the SG Weinstadt was one of the best participants from all over Baden-Württemberg. The team had a brilliant start in the first round and hit SV Großschönach-Lautenbach 3-0. On the following game against Dynawo-Mosbach, however, one had to accept a 0-1 loss, since the strong goalkeeper of the Mosbacher prevented the breakthrough and a late counterattack decided the game.
But the team could not be kept down! In the further course they counted a number of victories: against SV Deckenpfronn 2 (2: 0), Lebenshilfe Bruchsal 1 (1: 0), open help Heilbronn (2: 1) and Dynamo Lukas (2: 0). This made a tied placement possible with the second place, which meant for the sports community that due to the direct comparison, it was able to book the title of Baden-Württemberg champion in category C.
The importance of inclusive sport
Inclusion through sport is an important topic that also strongly supports the Federal Association of Lebenshilfe and the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS). These initiatives help to ensure that people with disabilities have the same access to sporting activities. The DBS has also campaigned for a classification scale for athletes with intellectual disabilities and thus promotes participation in competitions that are often associated with major challenges. This is particularly crucial, as there have been scandals in the past that excludes people with intellectual disabilities from the Paralympics, as on [Lebenshilfe.de] (https://www.lebenshilfe.de/informieren/frei-zeit/sport-und- undisabolic).
So the SG Weinstadt is not just a team. It stands for hope, courage and the conviction that everyone has a valuable place in a community. It remains exciting what the UNIFIED team will have in store for the next few months, but one thing is clear: the enthusiasm and the team spirit will continue to carry you! And who knows, maybe the next big tournament will happen soon - in the spirit of the motto "Be there everything".
