Ludwigsburg starts model project for clean air at B 27!
The city of Ludwigsburg takes the booklet in hand and starts an innovative project to improve air quality on the busy federal road B 27. According to the city managers who rely on the support of the state of Baden -Württemberg, the new "model project B 27" has the aim of examining various traffic -controlling and reducing measures. Mayor Sebastian Mannl recently received the funding notice directly from Christoph Erdmenger, head of department in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Transport. The city wants to actively do something about increasing air pollution that is considered a serious health risk.
With a project scope of around 680,000 euros, financed with 70 percent from state funds, Ludwigsburg intends to develop and evaluate strategies that should help to avert traffic bans. One of the measures could be the so -called “gate” of traffic at the city entrance. The aim is to improve the air quality not only for the residents of the B 27, but for all citizens of the city. Interestingly, Ludwigsburg will use modern data modeling in order to analyze the effects of traffic in detail and make it visible, according to the information from the [Stadt Ludwigsburg] (https://www.ludwigsburg.de/start/rathaus+Service/ludwigsburg+Startet+Modellprojekt+zur+Lufluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluftluft.
background to air quality in Ludwigsburg
air pollution is a big topic in Germany and was classified by the Federal Environment Agency as the greatest environmental risk of health. Ludwigsburg currently halves the limit of 40 µg/m³ for nitrogen dioxide (NO2), which has been observed since 2022. However, from 2030 a gripy value of only 20 µg/m³ will be required, which should encourage the city to take proactive measures. These changes were also cited as an important aspect in the planning of the model project.
at the B 27, which is considered a hotspot of the air pollution, the campaign "Make the difference" could be an additional step in the right direction. This initiative is intended to promote awareness of less noise and a better air and actively involve the citizens in the process.
Current air quality measurements
The last air quality measurements in Ludwigsburg show a development that gives rise to concern. During the day, the values fluctuated between 44 and 56 µg/m³, which reveals a constant proportion of pollutants in the air. Especially in the afternoon, the values with up to 56 µg/m³ were still within the acceptable limits, but are close to the critical limit. This makes it clear how important the planned measures are and how urgently it is necessary to improve the air quality for all citizens, such as the air quality data of iQair.
The results of the project should not only contribute to improving local air quality, but also serve nationwide recommendations for action for air purification slings that will come into force from 2027. With this project, those responsible have a good hand, which could possibly bring far -reaching positive effects for the quality of life in Ludwigsburg.
