This church, built in the Gothic style and lovingly known as the "old village church", has an exciting building history that goes back to the 7th century and amazed visitors with its architectural features.

tradition meets community

Kirchweihfeste have a long tradition and are an integral part of cultural life in many regions, including in Kornwestheim. These festivals are not only a tribute to the churches, but also an opportunity to celebrate the cooperation. Similar festivals already took place in Rome and beyond in the 5th century, and thus church consecration festivities have been established in different cultures through the centuries, such as Herder.

st. Martin is not only the namesake of the community, but also has a special meaning for the believers as a patron. The Catholic St. Martinuskirche in Kornwestheim, which has existed since the early 20th century, complements the oldest, partly still existing Evangelical Martin Church. The historical value of the St. Martinus Church, which was repeatedly renovated-most recently in 2022 after a comprehensive renovation-underlines the valuable role of this site in the life of the community.

A look at the story

The more than 45 -meter -high tower with its impressive bells, which go back to the 15th century, makes the church a striking landmark of Kornwestheim, as the history reveals.
