There was an unfortunate traffic accident in Ulm late in the afternoon, which is said to have been caused by a driver's carelessness. As the Filstal wave reported, the incident occurred on August 13, 2025 at 5:15 p.m. on Jebenhäuser Straße, at the traffic light intersection with Faurndauer Straße. A 59-year-old man driving his Nissan collided with a Piaggio scooter driven by a 77-year-old senior citizen.
The dog box that was on the luggage rack of the scooter was particularly noticeable. During the impact, the senior fell onto the road with his scooter and dog crate and sustained minor injuries. The rescue workers were quickly on the scene and immediately took the victim to a clinic, as reported by the News.de is reported. Fortunately, his loyal companion, the eleven-year-old dachshund named “Bobby,” was uninjured.
Property damage and consequences
The accident also resulted in estimated property damage of around 500 euros. A tow truck attended to the damaged scooter while police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. Driver carelessness was considered the main cause, which is not uncommon in such cases.
Accidents like this remind us how important concentration is on the road. Particularly when dealing with other road users, such as the scooter driver in this case, attention is key. Even if the damage is relatively minor, such incidents could have much worse consequences.
