Renovation of the Jesinger community hall: progress in fire protection!

The renovation of the Jesingen community hall is going according to plan and is already showing significant progress. On November 14, 2025, members of the local council visited the construction site to personally see the renovation work on site. The main goal of the tour was the hall's Great Hall, where project manager Beate Kloss-Nitzschke outlined the hall's development history from the 1950s. One of the key themes was the urgent need to address fire safety deficiencies identified during several inspections.

A fire prevention show in 2012 and an order in 2018 revealed deficiencies that ultimately led to the hall being closed as a meeting place. Usage is currently limited to a maximum of 200 people. In order to ensure safety for future use, the renovation work focuses particularly on creating early warning systems, improving escape routes and installing smoke exhaust systems.

Comprehensive measures and progress

Significant improvements have already been implemented in 2023. This includes installing new fire doors and expanding walls for escape routes. Carpenters and electricians are currently working on site to advance further important steps in the renovation. New windows were installed to optimize both smoke extraction and ventilation. The hall will also be equipped with new wooden wall cladding and non-combustible insulation to meet future fire protection requirements.

An important part of the measures is the planned installation of a fire alarm system that covers the entire building. The hall lighting will also be replaced to improve not only safety but also the ambience during use. Funding can be applied for to finance the renovation measures.

Alternative use during renovation

During the construction work, the Jesingen community hall will be closed for events. For this purpose, the local clubs have already resorted to alternative premises in Jesingen or Kirchheim unter Teck. The main renovation work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2025, but work on replacing the lighting and fire alarm system is not scheduled until the first quarter of 2026. Once completed, the community hall will not only be safer, but will also be modernized and attractively designed for users.
