New railings at the Adenauerbrücke: Security for the future!
Esslingen am Neckar, Deutschland - In the city of Esslingen, important construction measures are pending, which are intended to significantly improve traffic safety at Adenauerbrücke. From July 16 to mid -August, the bridge railing will be renewed on the outside of the building. This measure is necessary to ensure the security for the next 10 to 15 years, until a replacement building is possibly taken into account, as the city on its website .
The focus of the work is on the renewal of the railing, which is equipped with a height of 1.30 meters. There is a new steel cable in the handrail, which should further increase the safety standards. Corrosion damage is also remedied and the walkway is widened by the new railing. The work mainly takes place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to keep the traffic restrictions as low as possible. During the construction phase, only one lane towards the city center can be used on weekdays, which could stall traffic a little. But no worries, nightly work is planned to continue to minimize the effects. Pedestrians: Inside and cyclists have to adjust to restrictions when accessing the Neckarinsel; The lock ramp will not be accessible at times. A detour via foot and bicycle ramp to the Neckarufradweg as well as via Kurt-Schumacher-Straße and the wooden footbridge is set up. The opposite side of the bridge remains consistently usable for foot and cycling traffic, so that nobody has to do without its route in the construction phase. traffic restrictions and diversions
upcoming projects and local measures
In this context, the replacement building of the Adenauerbrücke in Krumbach at Bundesstraße 10 is also of interest. The city of Krumbach announced the blocking of the Ziegelländeweg in March 2025, which is expected to last until the end of 2028. A diversion for pedestrians and cyclists is set up via the Danube parallel, and the bike path as well as the ZICK-ZAG-DEGE, which is shown how serious it is with traffic safety. The construction work in both Esslingen and Krumbach will not only increase the safety of road users, but also guarantee a sustainable improvement in the infrastructure for the next few years. It remains exciting to see how the modernization projects in both cities are progressing and what that means for the citizens: inside.
