In Sindelfingen, drivers face a small challenge: From Monday, July 14, 2025, the underground car park at the market square will be closed to electrical engineering work. According to Stuttgarter Nachrichten, the use of the garage is completely restricted on this day between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. During this time, both entrances and trips are not possible. Therefore, drivers should drive their vehicles out of the underground car park in good time before the work begins.

A notice in the underground car park will provide information about the possibility of the paid towing of illegally parked vehicles. Good to know: vehicles that are already parked are tolerated, but no entry or exit is possible here either.

Alternatives to the underground car park

The good news for everyone who has to stay in the city: The underground car park town hall and library are not affected by the blocking and can continue to be used in the meantime. These can be reached via Wolboldstrasse and Vaihinger Straße. In addition, the Kreissparkasse underground car park is available during the blocking via the Ziegelstrasse.

As part of this work, there are also further changes in the city center. As the city of Sindelfingen reports, the weekly market will be moved to the lower western market square, the planie, the lower suburb and the Mercedesstraße from Tuesday, April 8, 2025. This measure is part of the preparatory work on the media lines carried out by the municipal utilities.

Exciting developments are imminent: From the end of July and early August 2025, extensive concrete repair and sealing work begins on the underground car park. For this purpose, the eastern half of the marketplace is cleared to make room for the construction work. However, access for pedestrians remains guaranteed by designated paths, so that the busy city center can continue to be slapped.

In order to regulate the traffic situation during this time, a number of measures were also taken: From Wednesday, April 2, 2025, urban equipment elements such as bicycle stands, benches and planters will be temporarily dismantled. Planiestrasse is locked in a certain section, and stopping bans in public parking spaces behind the closure during the weekly market apply. In addition, severely disabled parking spaces are relocated to adjacent areas, which is important for many affected people.
