Arson attack in the Holzgerlingen Tesla Center: State Security is investigating!

There was a devastating fire in Tesla's Holzgerlingen delivery center at the end of April 2025, in which more than a dozen electric vehicles were completely burned out. The fire department was on site with a large contingent to fight the flames, which were reported early in the morning by a resident. The damage amounts to around half a million euros. Markus Rath, the fire brigade commander, made it clear that the vehicles did not catch fire during the loading process; they were free standing and were not connected to a charging station. State security is also involved because a political motive cannot be ruled out.

Growing concern about attacks

What is particularly striking is that Tesla has been the target of arson attacks and paint attacks several times in the past. The Freiburg branch was daubed with paint by activists. These incidents shed a worrying light on the security situation around the repair and delivery points of the company, which operates one of the largest delivery centers in Europe in Holzgerlingen, which has only been in operation since the end of 2022 and serves customers from all over southern Germany, such as Schwäbische reports.

A worrying situation has also arisen in the area around the Tesla factory in Brandenburg. There was a suspected arson attack on a high-voltage pylon, which paralyzed production at the only European Tesla factory in Grünheide. The police and the State Criminal Police Office are also investigating arson in this case, and it is suspected that the “Vulkangruppe”, a left-wing extremist group, is behind the attack. They have even published a letter of responsibility in which they accuse Tesla of extreme conditions of exploitation, as Tagesschau reports.

The overall situation surrounding Tesla is getting worse. While the investigation into the cause of the fire in the Holzgerlingen center continues unabated, the area around the plant in Brandenburg is also being increasingly examined. Experts fear that conflicting opinions about Tesla's controversial projects in Germany could not only cause protests, but also lead to violent attacks.
