Östliche Karl-Friedrich-Straße, Pforzheim, Deutschland - in Pforzheim today, on July 14, 2025, a special art campaign is celebrated in the shade of a historical building. The demolition of the old technical town hall in the eastern Karl-Friedrich-Straße is imminent, but before the excavators roll, art is relied on art in its most impressive form. The northern facade of the town hall becomes a “living canvas” and serves as a projection surface for a film that addresses the various dimensions of architecture and urban memories. The idea for this exciting project comes from an art competition from the city, in the context of which Harald Kröner's concept was selected by a jury. Kröner researched in the city archives of Pforzheim and at the Institute for City History in Stuttgart to currently use current images. Recordings by the renowned Pforzheim architectural photographer Bernhard Friese give the film additional life. The video installation can be seen daily from 14 to July 20: Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., Sunday and Monday to midnight.
