Pforzheim relies on innovation: Robot Buky One revolutionizes artificial turf care!
Pforzheim, Deutschland - Pforzheim goes with big steps into the future of sports field care. The innovative artificial turf robot "Buky One" has found its commitment in the city and is now taking care of five artificial turf pitches. Part of the SmartCity project "Climate-neutral sports fields", which was launched by Mayor Peter Boch, relies on this environmentally friendly and sustainable solution. Pforzheim is already the fifth city in Germany, which relies on this autonomous robot, based on role models such as Ulm and Frankfurt, like the city of Pforzheim in its current Press release emphasizes.
The Buky One is truly a small technology guru: With every round that lasts about three and a half hours, the robot misses the places via an app, determines railways and compensates for bumps perfectly. In addition, with his brush and spring daily technology, he ensures that the filling material is loosened up, quartz sand is evenly distributed and the grass fibers are erected again. But not only that - the robot also recognizes obstacles and brakes independently to avoid accidents. Thanks to its magnetic components, it can even collect small metal parts and thus exclude injury risks.
efficiency and environmental protection in focus
Another plus: the Buky One works autonomously and does not require a human supervision. It can be used at any time of the day and thus makes an important contribution to relieving the technical services in Pforzheim. This enables more efficient resource use, since less manual interventions are required and both water and energy can be saved. As Sandmaster describes in his project presentation, the robot with its ultra-iron electric drive also ensures environmentally friendly care for sports fields. The use of the GPS/RTK system enables precise position determination, while the integrated lidar system ensures that the robot works safely and without collisions.
The advantages of this innovative project are out of the question: more secure seasons for the clubs, lower operating costs and a higher standard in artificial turf care. The Buky One system could also serve as a model for other cities that want to make their sports facilities more environmentally conscious and efficient.
