Safe paddling pool for children: bathing pass without nasty surprises!
The warm season is just around the corner and thus also the search for the ideal paddling pool for a refreshing bathing fun in your own garden. The popular provider Ernsting’s Family has the solution for families with his paddling pool that cannot go to the sea. This model, decorated with a charming crab motif and other marine animals, offers the little ones a summer pleasure. Its two round air chambers and the supplied valves and a repair patch also ensure security. From the age of only one year, planning can be planned to your heart's content. At this point, however, it should be pointed out: toddlers should never bathe in the paddling pool without supervision in order to avoid dangerous situations. After each bathing fun, a thorough cleaning of the pelvis is recommended to adhere to fresh holding and hygiene standards. However, there are other exciting options on the sales shelves, such as the Intex Planning Pab or the Bestway Planning Basin Deep Dive, which can both be used from two years and come up with additional features.
health aspects at a glance
Hardly anyone thinks of health risk aspects when choosing their new paddling pool. But a look at the current test results of Öko-Test shows that the majority of the models tested found questionable pollutants. Of 16 tested paddling pools, only two received a positive assessment. Over 87 percent of the products did not pass the test. The paddling pool made of soft PVC is viewed particularly critically, since it contains phthalates that can develop hormone-like effects and thus be harmful to health. Another risk comes from phenol, which has been detected in some pools and is considered potentially carcinogenic. Öko-Test therefore recommends not to inflate the paddle pool made of soft PVC with the mouth; The use of an air pump is better.
The dangerous ingredients
Öko-Test not only analyzed phthalates, but also other substances that could occur in the materials of the paddling pool. Pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAK) and tin organic compounds are also on the list of risks. Particularly worrying: the products are designed for small children, which is why they should be free of problematic ingredients. Various criteria were included in the assessment of the quality, whereby already small amounts of critical pollutants led to grades. For example, about 1,000 mg/kg of prohibited phthalates can devalue by four grades, while other questionable connections can result in a devaluation by up to two notes.
With all this information in the back of the head, parents should now have an even better hand to find the right paddling pool for their little ones. Whether the sweet crab model from Ernsting’s Family or one of the other alternatives-the summer months can come! It is important that the focus is not only on fun, but also safety and health. As you can see: There are a lot to consider when it comes to the plans!
