Zero new infections in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald: A ray of hope!

Today is a positive day for the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district, as new infections with COVID-19 remain stable at 0 compared to the previous day. This means that the 7-day incidence in the district is just 0.4 per 100,000 inhabitants, which makes the situation here appear very positive. A total of 119,037 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded since the start of the pandemic, reported news.de.

All 12 intensive care beds in the district are currently available as there are no COVID patients in the intensive care units, according to the latest figures. One can say that the clinics are well positioned and are not currently overloaded. This development is also a bright spot amid the ongoing pandemic.

The current situation in Baden-Württemberg

A total of 39,060,633 infections are registered in Germany. Here too, the incidence remains at a low level of 0.6 per 100,000 inhabitants. The total number of deaths is now 187,702, with older age groups particularly badly affected, particularly those over 80 with 121,857 deaths.

Vaccination status and new variant under observation

As far as vaccination status is concerned, a survey shows that around 76.3% of the population in Germany has basic immunization, while 77.9% have received at least one vaccination. The numbers are similar in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district; a total of over 23 million vaccinations have been carried out in Baden-Württemberg since the start of the vaccination campaign corona-in-zahlen.de reported.

However, parallel to the positive numbers, there are also new developments in the virus variant landscape. The new variant Nimbus was discovered in January 2025 and is under observation by the WHO. Initial assessments suggest that it may be more easily transmissible, but there is no worrying evidence of more severe disease progression.

In these difficult times for many, it is reassuring to see that the situation in Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Baden-Württemberg remains stable. Stay healthy and pay attention to the latest developments!
