Mountain bike world class in Aalen: Eliminator World Cup celebrates comeback!

Aalen, Deutschland - The anticipation in Aalen is great! In a few days, the city will become the scene of the UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup 2025, which begins on Friday, July 12th. Under the motto "World-class cycling sport in the festival atmosphere", the city center is transformed into a pulsating arena. For the first time after two World Cup races and the 2024 World Cup, this exciting event returns and promises a diverse supporting program for young and old. Last year, over 7,000 spectators made a pilgrimage to the city, and this time too there is a big rush.

The competition starts with a round of 16, in which 32 eliminator drivers compete. First of all, more than 32 athletes have to prove themselves in the qualification run to determine the fastest 32 for the heats. In the eliminator, the sprint discipline of the mountain biking, there are four drivers per race, the first two of whom move up into the next round.

new route and strong participants

A highlight of the event is the new route: with 680 meters in length and explosive sprints with tight curves, stairs and obstacles, it ensures that the drivers have to push their limits. The Germans Marion Fromberger and Simon Gegenheimer will also cause a sensation. Againstheimer, who became a sprint world champion in 2021, is one of the best mountain bikers in the country and has excellent chances of wining a medal. Fromberger, one of the fastest women in the eliminator, also has great ambitions and would like to go to the podium.

But the event has more to offer. In addition to cycling, visitors can expect an exciting bike expo, where the latest trends can be tested, as well as a supporting program that includes food trucks, children's course and an after-race party. By the way, admission to the event is free!

live broadcast and supporting program

For everyone who cannot be on site: SWR Sport will stream live on Saturday, July 12th, from 5:00 p.m., so that nobody has to miss the spectacle. The races not only attract professionals, but are also open to children and amateurs, which underlines the urban character of the series. Because the UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup has been held in city centers since 2017 and inspires with a format that is suitable for all age groups.

The event in Aalen is a unique opportunity to experience the best athletes in the world up close. What could be nicer than enjoying an exciting race in a great atmosphere? Be there!
