Biberach, Deutschland - Congratulations to all blood donors in Zell am Harmersbach! On July 1, 232 people flocked to the Ritter-von-Buß-Halle to do good and save life together. An impressive number that shows that solidarity is very popular in the region. Among the donors were also ten first donors who bravely decided to play an important role in the community. The warm meal organized by Johanna Moser, Alla Rud, Angelika Bächle, Daniela Schmieder and Horhii Uliakin rounded off this special day - with delicious sausage salad and schnitzel.

The committed members of the reception team, consisting of Annette Kern, Marco Stricker and Kerstin Stricker from the DRK local association Zell a. H., ensured that everything went smoothly. As a reward for their great performance, the blood donors received a bar of chocolate as a small thank you. Despite the typically declining willingness to donate during the summer months, the DRK local association was able to collect remarkable 218 blood conservers. Margit Wohlgethan, a contact person from the DRK local association, was extremely positive about the high number of participants.

The future of the DRK local association

Not everything is rosy. In view of structural changes and a decline in active members, the DRK local association Zell a. H. is expected to dissolve in autumn 2023. This decision will also affect the medical services, emergency operations and first aid courses, a fact that affects not only the members of the association, but also the entire community.

In order to continue to meet the need for blood donations, an additional blood donation date for August 5 was scheduled. If you want to get involved, you can make your contribution by participating in the upcoming appointment. The blood donation itself only takes about ten minutes, including registration and check-up, but in total you should plan an hour for the entire process.
