Laupheim, Deutschland - Last week the Laupheim karate club once again had every reason to be happy. The belt tests traditionally took place before the summer vacation, in which eight children and youth groups and three adult groups took part. Despite the brooding heat, all participants showed special diligence and ambition, as the Schwäbische Zeitung . The atmosphere was characterized by a strong sense of community and the unconditional will to successfully master the exam.

The exams themselves included various parts of the test, including technology performances, fights against imaginary opponents in kataform and partner training. These formats allowed the test subjects to demonstrate their skills and show the progress of their months of preparation. The examiner Gabi Klotz then proudly presented the certificates to the large group of children, thrilled and relieved her performance.

But what does it actually mean to take a belt check in the karate? The Berlin State Sports Association explains that Karateka can take exams at defined intervals that you lead to the next higher kyu, i.e. pupils. The belt colors document the degree reached and range from white to yellow, orange, green, blue to the brown belt. According to this degree, the master belt follows, which is connected to the awarding of the 1st Dan. It is worth noting that the Dan carriers can be recognized by black belts and that the Dangrade extends until the 10th Dan. All graduations of the DKV are recognized worldwide.

During the summer vacation, the children, young people and adults have the opportunity to train in the karat center. This opens up a valuable opportunity to further refine the learned techniques and skills and prepare for future exams. The club members in Laupheim once again show that they have a good knack for sport and community.
