A serious truck accident affected the A6 near Sinsheim on Friday evening, June 21, 2025. The collision was violent: the driver's cab of the truck that hit the road was completely destroyed in the impact and the driver had to be freed from his trapped vehicle by the fire department using heavy equipment. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 33-year-old driver of the barrier vehicle, who was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident, was uninjured.
But this is not the only incident on the A6 recently. There was already a tragic truck accident on June 13th, in which a 58-year-old driver died at the scene of the accident after driving into the end of the traffic jam without braking. This serious accident occurred at 6:32 a.m. and led to a backlog of up to 22 kilometers, and the motorway in the direction of Mannheim was closed for hours. Traffic was only able to flow freely again at 9:30 p.m. The material damage from the incident is estimated at around one million euros. The cause of the accident remains under investigation and two drivers also sustained minor injuries.
