A serious truck accident suffered the A6 near Sinsheim on Friday evening, June 21, 2025. At around 8.30 p.m. there was a serious event when a 44-year-old driver of a heavily loaded truck overlooked a shut-off vehicle from the motorway master. This secured a defective truck on the hard shoulder and was equipped with a barrier wall trailer when the accident passed. The collision was violent: the driver's cab of the truck on the drive was completely destroyed in the impact and the driver had to be released from his trapped vehicle by the fire brigade with heavy equipment. He was taken to the hospital with severe but not life -threatening injuries. The 33-year-old driver of the barrier, who was not in the vehicle at the time of the incident, was not injured.
But this is not the only incident on the A6 lately. On June 13th there was already a tragic truck accident, in which a 58-year-old driver died at the scene of the accident after he was unchecked at the end of the traffic jam. This serious accident occurred at 6:32 a.m. and led to a backlog of up to 22 kilometers, the highway towards Mannheim was closed for hours. Only at 9:30 p.m. the traffic was able to flow back without restrictions. The property damage of the incident is estimated at around one million euros. The cause of the accident continues to be examined and two drivers were slightly injured.
