Big rush at the 48th wine press festival in Wollenberg - culinary highlights and great music!

On July 7, 2025, Wollenberg, a small place with only 400 inhabitants, turned into a pulsating festival area when the Wollenberg volunteer fire brigade celebrated its 48th wine press festival. Over 500 visitors flocked to this traditional event, which is more than the entire population of the suburb. The atmosphere was characterized by a colorful hustle and bustle and delicious food, including new vegetarian specialties that delighted the palate of the guests. Former department commander Harald Scholz praised the good ambience, which was reinforced by the presence of loyal festival visitors such as Maria and Bernhart Stoll from Bargen as well as new guests such as Sulamith Haass and her friends from Scheffenz.

The wine press festival is one of two large events in Wollenberg that are only two weeks apart. In addition to the wine press festival, the Jakobim market is also celebrated, which will take place on July 19. This year the wine press festival will be organized for the 35th time, and the fire brigade is also looking forward to its 130th anniversary next year, which will look back at the first mentions from 1896.

The visitors could not only enjoy new vegetarian dumplings, but also immerse themselves in the program, which was rounded off by the appearance of the band Random X at 9 p.m. The audience couldn't help but sing along and dance. This year there was also a bouncy castle for the children, which was accepted great, as well as live music from the two-man chapel of Retsina and the castle mountain musicians, an association of musicians from the around 50 kilometers around Grombach.
The fire security was also highly written: the Rappenau fire brigade impressively showed its turntable, which can be extended up to 33 meters high. The conductor of the Schlossberg musicians was even promoted with it to elicit the best tones from there from there.

The Wollenberg fire brigade with its 17 active members provides the majority of the organization of this festival and thus proves the close connection within the community and other weirs of the region, in particular in Hüffenhardt. Laura Weber, firefighter from Kälbertshausen, emphasizes the camaraderie, which is growing at such events.

Because so many people come to the wine press festival, not only the festival itself, but also the work and the use of the fire brigade is valued. In the coming year, the fire brigade will celebrate its 130th anniversary-one more reason to keep an eye on the preparations for the 50th in two years, possibly even with an expansion to two days.

The wine press festival has once again proven that the community, culinary diversity and good music best belong together. Wollenberg is looking forward to further celebrations and to continue tradition.
