Transport chaos in Kornwestheim: Construction work on Ludwigsburger Straße!
From Tuesday, July 15, 2025, new traffic regulations will come into force in Kornwestheim on Ludwigsburger Straße. As the Stuttgarter Nachrichten will report that West side of Pflugfelder Straße released for traffic on this day. However, the eastern section of Pflugfelder Straße- from the intersection of Kirchtalstraße to Ludwigsburger Straße- remains completely blocked due to extensive surrounding and management work until the end of August.
At the intersection of Ludwigsburger Straße / Pflugfelder Straße West, traffic is still regulated by a traffic light system. A passage towards Ludwigsburg is not possible during this construction phase, apart from bus traffic. Car traffic is diverted across Lange Strasse and Jakobstrasse. The city of Kornwestheim asks all road users for understanding the inconvenience that these necessary construction work.
Current construction sites at a glance
- Bahnhofstraße: Complete blocking for cars until November 8th due to management work. Diversion via Allenstrasse, Solitudestrasse and Schillerstraße.
- Alter Oßweiler Weg: Complete blocking for car and bicycle traffic until October 2025 for the development of Fuchshof.
- Berliner Platz: cycling locally redirected until October 25th.
- Goetheplatz: full closure by November 8th due to road expansion.
- Hahnenstraße: driving ban until October 16.
The extensive construction sites often have consequences for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, which means a challenge for daily traffic. A digital construction site tool that was developed by safe roads is now intended to improve the clarity. It enables the population to view current construction sites on an interactive map and provides information on closures, diversions and end dates. This should not only increase transparency, but also support traffic safety.
Thanks to the intuitive operation of the tool, construction sites can be entered quickly and updated. It is also possible to insert photos to enrich the information. In this way, bottlenecks and dangerous situations in road traffic should be better kept in view.
