There will soon be a lot of music in the Göppingen town hall. On November 16, 2015, from 5:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a very special concert by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra (ASSO) awaits us. This orchestra, which was founded in 2006 as the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia and has been able to call itself the State Symphony Orchestra since 2018, not only brings the sounds of Armenia to us, but also celebrates its thousand-year cultural history with a European tour. An occasion not to be missed!
The program will take listeners on a sonic journey. Liturgical songs from Armenia, the violin concerto by Aram Khachaturian and the fifth “Fate Symphony” by Tchaikovsky are planned. Particularly noteworthy is the soloist of the evening, Darius Preuß, an exceptional violinist, born in Bochum in 2004, who will delight the audience with his art. A small foretaste of what is to come is provided by an introduction to the program by Volker Rendler-Bernhardt, which begins at 5:20 p.m.

Top-class works by Armenian composers such as Edvard Mirzoyan and John Ter-Tatevosian round off the program and promise a varied concert that every music fan should enjoy. During the festival concert, violinist Darius Preuß, together with the orchestra, will introduce the audience to both the deep traditions and the modern musical language of Armenia.
