Leonberg's city run: Thousands of runners inspire the city!

Steinstraße, Leonberg, Deutschland - in Leonberg was once again a huge mood! The Leonberger Citylauf celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, and the whole city was on its feet. With over 2000 registered participants, the event, which took place this time on June 29, 2025, exceeded all expectations.

The founder of the city run, Eberhard Trinkner , handed over the organization to Ralf Siffner after 15 years, but did not miss the opportunity to start at the same time. It was an emotional moment for Trinkner, because his goal of over 2000 participants, which he had targeted in the past 14 years, has finally been achieved. "The organization has become really nice, the medals are a real eye -catcher," said Trinkner about the innovations and improvements of the event ( Stuttgarter Nachrichten ).

A colorful program for all age groups

The day started with a children's run that inspired the youngest athletes. This was followed by the main run, which was organized in various disciplines - a 5 km run, a 10 km run and a relay race. The runs started at 8:20 p.m. in Steinstrasse, directly at the parking lot at the Leonberg indoor pool.

With strong applause and a lot of good mood, the route that led through Steinstrasse was cheered past the popular Leo Center and to Eltingen, where the largest audience group was waiting. Support came from around 140 to 160 helpers, including route posts and cyclists who provided security and mood.

The winners of the day

The 5 km run was not to be beaten. He secured first place with an admirable time of 16:28 minutes. The other runners also managed to improve their best times:

Platz name Zeit
1. Tim Hofmann 16:28
2. Jeremy Zimmhakl 17:25
3. Philipp Kranz 17:48

There was also an exciting race on the 10 km run, which Darian Rau won with 34:35 minutes. The fastest runner results in the 10 km run were:

Platz name Zeit
1. Darian Rau 34:35
2. Michael Kutz 34:40
3. Martin Nebe 34:52

late registrations for the event

For everyone who wanted to decide at short notice, there were numerous late registration options. These were up to 28. June available, both personal registration at the fairground and on the day of the event. However, children who wanted to take part in the Kellergroup school run or the Volksbank children's run had to register on site when you deregistered other children ( Citylauf-leonberg.de ).

An important concern of the organizers is also the health care . The German Athletics Association (DLV) recommends filling out an internationally validated questionnaire to estimate health risks, created by the Humboldt University in Berlin. The results should draw attention to the topic of preventive health care ( Achtthletik.de ).

In summary, it can be said that the 15th Leonberger City run was a complete success, which was enthusiastic about both sport and socially. A great event to promote fitness and coexistence in Leonberg!
