Last weekend, from June 13th to 15th, the 47th International Street Festival took place in Sindelfingen, which, despite smoldering conflicts, proved to be a real crowd puller. This event attracts visitors from near and far who can be tried through the variety of international specialties. The guests in particular inspire the kitchens from Portugal, Serbia and Afghanistan and bring a hint of cosmopolitan city to the Baden-Württemberg city. The official opening was on June 13th at 7 p.m. by Mayor Dr. Bernd Vöhringer and Mario Marino celebrated. It was Vöhringer's last opening speech, as the new mayor Markus Kleemann will take over the opening next year. The highlights of the program included different music and dance performances that kidnapped the audience into the cultural traditions of the partner cities, which were also represented with stands. These include cities such as Corbeil-Essonnes, Chelm and Györ. Where the partnership evening on June 12 once attuned visitors to the festival, the place of the partner cities in Ziegelstraße/corner of Planiestrasse served as a central meeting point.

While the visitors strolled through the festival, there were also some practical information and restrictions to consider. Roads in the festival area were fully blocked, and the access to underground garages was only possible via certain entrances. Due to renovation work, the underground car park market square could not be hit, and the weekly market on June 14 was moved to Vaihinger Strasse.
