District discussion in the Nordstadt: Your opinion counts!

District discussion in the Nordstadt: Your opinion counts!

A lot is happening in Lörrach! On Monday, July 21, 2025, the fourth district discussion will take place in the Nordstadt. The event begins at 6.30 p.m. in the cafeteria of the Albert Schweitzer School at Wintersbuckstraße 15. Mayor Jörg Lutz and Mayor Monika Neuhöfer-Avdić cordially invite all residents to speak openly about their concerns, ideas and topics. This regular series of events is an important link between the administration and the citizens. The feedback from the participants is actively involved in the work of the city administration and help to further improve the quality of life in the districts. In the past talks in Tumringen, Salzert and Stetten, the exchange with the citizens was of great importance.

For everyone who is interested in other district talks, there are already a few appointments: On September 7, 2025, the conversation will take place in Haagen/Hauingen, followed by an appointment on October 1, 2025 in Tüllingen. The exact places of future meetings will be announced. Registration is not required, and if you need more information, you can look around on the city's website: www.loerrach.de/stadtteiltichtung.

Digital citizen participation on the advance

But that's not all! In the region, the gas is also accelerated in digital matters. The Lörrach district administration has set itself the goal of actively involving the citizens in planning processes in order to further improve the quality of life. This is where the digital participation platform Consul comes into play, which is provided as part of the Smartte.Land.Land. Regions. This platform enables citizens to take part in surveys regardless of time and location, to discuss topics and to bring in their ideas. A participation procedure of the Digital General Service Staffpoint is currently underway via Consul, in the context of which four further appointments for direct communication with the citizens are planned.

In the digital world, the integration of citizens absorbs speed, even if the introduction of this form of e-participation in smaller communities sometimes progresses hesitantly. Online termination agencies and application processing are often used, while citizens' meetings often only offer limited say. Many municipalities are already relying on social media and digital platforms to actively involve the citizens. This has a positive effect: the transparency in political decision -making processes increases, and citizens can increasingly contribute to suggestions that are then incorporated into the decision -making.

An example from Bonn shows how citizen participation can be effectively lived: The citizen participation portal "Bonn participates!", Which has been active since 2014, offers a wide range of information and opportunities for participation. Similar initiatives have also emerged in other cities such as Stuttgart, Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim, which all pursue the same goal: to enable more citizen participation and transparency in local politics.

The increasing digital participation will continue to pick up speed in Lörrach. It remains exciting how the district discussion and the digital participation platforms will help to strengthen the cooperation in the city and to incorporate the concerns of the citizens into the plans.
