Konstanz, Deutschland - in Constance, Maritime flair will be capitalized again this year! The 60th International Lake Constance Week recently took place and attracted thousands of visitors. Despite a small handicap - the wind was missing on Saturday - the event was consistently positive. This year the Lake Constance Week presented itself more extensively than in previous years. The Maritime event, which was launched in 1909 and revived in 2009, combines water sports and social importance. Visitors could not only marvel at elegant yachts, including the 114 -year -old jewel “Falke”. The supporting program was very popular with the guests and therefore offered a welcome change for the entire family. In addition, those present were able to find out about technical innovations and nautical traditions - from rowing boats to sailing catamarans and steam boats!

But not everything ran according to plan: Canoeists were absent due to training camps, which prevented a race with dragon boats. Nevertheless, Weisschedel wants future participations from rowers and races for the young sailor in the Opti class to further promote diversity. "The event is a family reunion of the Bodensee-Segler scene," explained Mona Küppers, President of the German Sailing Association, and emphasized the importance of Lake Constance Week.

The next Lake Constance week is already planned for the period from May 28th to 31, 2026. We can be excited to see what the organizers will endure for the coming year!
