Tornado devastated Ulm suburbs: Families fight for survival!

Gögglingen-Donaustetten, Deutschland - On June 4, a tornado of the strength IF2 swept through the Ulm suburb of Gögglingen-Donausetten and left a trace of destruction. The Tornado, which was officially confirmed by the German Weather Service, left damage that extended over a distance of ten kilometers. Roofers had to go on numerous houses, and several trees were also torn out.

The Mölter family, whose home was badly damaged, was particularly hard damaged. The Mölters not only lost roof and furniture, but also valuable memorabilia and old photos. According to the devastating effects of the storm, your house is temporarily only protected by a tarpaulin. Initial repair work has already been completed, but the Mölter family and their neighbors still have to wait for some time. An expert confirmed that the construction of her house is solid, which gives hope - in about two to three months the family could move in again.

The neighbors help together

The neighborhood quickly reacted to the damage: neighbors and also strange messengers to help. Petra Wache, neighbor of the Mölters, was not spared the destruction, but was able to live in her partially damaged house. Fortunately, there were no injuries to complain, despite the enormous damage to property that the region suffered.

Weather expert Andreas Machalica explains that there are around 30 tornados in Germany, which are usually not strong. However, the tornado from Donaustetten was particularly dangerous because it swept through inhabited areas. The graduate meteorologist Adrian Lyser emphasizes the unusual length of the damage lane, which is rare for Germany and is due to the huge whirlwind. According to Augsburger Allgemeine, a tornado in Germany causes considerable damage if it pulls through urban areas.

The experts agree: tornados like the one in Donaustetten are rare, but they are a serious danger if they occur in densely populated areas. The residents are now required to fix the damage as quickly as possible and to restore everyday life.

While the Mölters are housed in a holiday apartment by the end of July, it remains to be seen how quickly further repairs are progressing in the neighborhood. Everyone here does their best to bring the community back into a stable state. A little neighborhood aid can work miracles - there is something!
