Schwäbisch Gmünd Bookstore: Bigger and better at the new location!

The bookstore in Schwäbisch Gmünd has big news to report. A move will soon take place at Marktplatz 19-21, where the bookstore opened six years ago. From November, customers will be able to browse in a new, attractive environment at Marktplatz 32, where the sales area will grow from 220 to almost 380 square meters. Good for all book lovers who will find even more selection here in the future. Managing director Christian Riethmüller highlights the advantages of the new location, which will offer visitors a bright and attractive store interior as well as a changed product range.  The Börsenblatt reports.

The investment of 400,000 euros is an exciting development for the bookstore, which relies on a large games department and its own youth world. These modernization measures are intended to offer customers a special experience and strengthen the binding role of the bookstore in the local community. The landlord will also redesign the facade of the new building, which will add additional appeal to the customer-friendly orientation.

Schwäbisch Gmünd has a wide range of bookstores, as the telephone directory shows. There, readers can not only find addresses and telephone numbers, but also plan routes and travel by public transport. The ability to save contact details and access current opening times makes it even easier to discover the local book scene. This is what the phone book shows the diversity and dynamism of the book trade in the city.

Book retail is currently booming in Germany. With net sales of around 3.7 billion euros in 2022, the German book market is one of the strongest in Europe. Fiction is the most popular in the course, followed by children's and young adult books, as an analysis of Statista shows. Despite these positive figures, the stationary book trade is facing challenges as the number of physical bookstores tends to decrease. But innovative approaches, such as the move and modernization of the Schwäbisch Gmünder bookstore, can perhaps have a positive influence on change.

The high growth of e-commerce and the increasing demand for e-books, which has recently risen to around 41 million, are also aspects that cannot be ignored at the bookstore in Schwäbisch Gmünd. A sensitive adaptation to the needs of the readers and the trends of the market shows that there is a good knack for being successful in the future.
