New additions to FV Biberach: players and assistant coaches for the new season!
On June 20, 2025, FV Biberach brought a breath of fresh air into its squad. With the signing of three new players, the coming season in the national league should get off to a good start. Particularly noteworthy are Axel Durand Sime from the U19 Ehingen-Süd, Mateo Maric from TSV Neu-Ulm and Mbemba Colley, who comes from TSV Blaustein. The sporting management around Salvatore Moscatello is optimistic and emphasizes that the new talents have a lot of development potential and will make an excellent contribution to identifying with the club. This is particularly important as the squad planning for the new season is now almost complete, as they wanted to ensure a certain continuity in order to catapult the team upwards. The Swabian reports that Talking to potential players was also more difficult than in previous years. The reasons for this are the late relegation, uncertainty caused by rumors and a thinned out market.
But it's not just on the field that new faces should bring a breath of fresh air. FV Biberach has also made changes in the coaching team. Kai Luibrand, who was most recently active as a striker and has been with the club for two years, will be the new assistant player-coach and follows in the footsteps of Armin Hertenberger and Andreas Wonschick. This decision reflects the desire to promote the coaches' identification with the club, which, according to Moscatello, is extremely important.
A new assistant player coach on board
An experienced defender, Manuel Konrad, who recently attracted attention at regional league club FC Memmingen, was also signed. The 36-year-old not only brings his footballing skills, but also the necessary experience from various clubs such as SC Freiburg and Dynamo Dresden. This season he scored three goals in 26 games. How FUPA reports that Konrad will work in his new role under head coach Bernd Maier and plans to continue his active football career at a high level. He has had the B license since December and is also aiming for the A license - that's a clear career path for a trainer!
FV Biberach has great ambitions as a team and wants to play a strong role in the state league next season. The players and the coaching team are required to respond to the fans' wishes. After all, the supporters expect their club to stay in the picture not only locally, but also in terms of sport.
Challenges of squad planning
The challenges of squad planning in football are similar to those in business - a point emphasized by former U21 national coach Stefan Kuntz. In his presentation on player development, he explains how important it is to find and develop talent. The parallels are impressive: there is a shortage of skilled workers in both football and business and finding the best talent remains a challenge. Kuntz’s findings show that small changes can have a big impact and that teamwork and motivation are crucial. These aspects will also have to be kept in mind at FV Biberach in the future in order to achieve the goals we have set.
The next big challenge is already waiting: On May 18, 2024, the team will be on the pitch in the away game at TSV Oberensingen. Passion and fighting spirit are required – the foundation for a successful season is now being laid!
