Bus trip to the Uffrur exhibition: In the footsteps of the Peasant War!

On Sunday, August 10th, the time has finally come: The Leutkirch-Aitrach-Kißlegg association organizes an exciting bus trip to the large state exhibition "Uffrur! Utopia and resistance in the peasant war 1524/25" in the Schussenried monastery. This ثرة event is not only intended for interested participants, but also for all full-time and volunteer employees as well as their families and friends. Registration is made via the parish office of Leutkirch.

The event offers a wonderful opportunity to look at the historical events around the peasant war up close. The exhibition, which takes place from April 26 to October 5, 2025 in the Schussenried monastery, is reminiscent of the uprising of the farmers and simple people 500 years ago that fought for freedom and human rights. Historical tensions and their effects are impressively illuminated.

arrival and program

The bus runs from the Salzstadel bus stop at 12.15 p.m. right in front of the Trinity Church in Lower Grabenstrasse in Leutkirch. Guests from Aitrach and Kißlegg have to make their way to Leutkirch in good time. There are train connections for them that run in Aitrach at 11.12 a.m. and at 11.14 a.m. in Kißlegg.

After arriving in Bad Schussenried, a stop is planned before the tours in the exhibition begin at 3 p.m. A historical journey awaits the guests that helps to understand the political and social struggles of the time. During a visit, the participants can look forward to original exposes such as the Weißenau Chronicle and discover the role that Schussenried monastery played even in the peasant war.

A look at the story

The exhibition addresses the brutal attacks and the challenges with which the insurgent farmers were confronted - tens of thousands of them lost their lives at the time. The new technology is also used: artificial intelligence is used to digitally present significant personalities of that time. This gives the exhibition a modern note while discussing the teachings from history for today.

Numerous events are also planned, including concerts and theater performances that further illuminate the topic. At the end of April 2025, the opening weekend will certainly be a highlight that will attract many visitors. Details of the events can be found on the website of the Schussenried monastery, which can be called up via the link here

Before the departure to the excursion, a service is held in the churches in Aitrach and Kißlegg at 9.30 a.m., in Leutkirch at 11:00 a.m. This gives the participants the opportunity to start the day in a contemplative setting before immersing themselves in the fascinating history of the Peasant War.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the bus ride is not only a trip into the past, but also an opportunity for community experience and exchange. If you are interested, you should not be tortured for too long until the registration deadline to secure a place. Information on registration is available on 07561/72280 or by email to communityBuero-leutkirch@elkw.de.
