Highly sensitive cat Junior urgently needs a loving home!

In the heart of Hockenheim, a very special four-legged friend is waiting for a new home: Junior, a charming EKH tomcat, born in April 2019. His current situation is anything but easy, because Junior is urgently looking for a new home due to his owner's serious illness. As the animal aid Deine Tierwelt reports, Junior is a social cat who gets along well with other cats and has a cat-safe balcony.

Junior is neutered and has already tested negative for FIV and FELV. He is currently vaccinated against cat flu, cat disease and leukosis, has an EU pet passport and is chipped. So that he can continue to live out his joy of life, Junior needs an apartment with a secure, connected balcony. It would be best if he could live with another social cat or in a mixed group of cats. Solitary confinement would not be ideal for him.

Health challenges

Like any good life companion, Junior also comes with some health challenges. He suffers from FORL (Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions), a condition that can have painful effects on his teeth. This presents him with particular challenges when it comes to eating, as the pain may well cause him to stop eating, which can lead to significant weight loss. But as Fressnapf explains, FORL is not contagious and the life expectancy of affected cats is usually no lower than that of healthy animals. To relieve the pain, it may sometimes be necessary to have a tooth pulled, but this does not affect Junior's quality of life - cats can get along well even without teeth.

Additionally, Junior has Calici virus and a slight heart murmur, which is not causing any problems at the moment. Sensibly, he needs high-quality wet food as his kidney values have been above the limits on dry food in the past. The current suggestion is to preferentially offer food after possible dental surgery that does not put additional mechanical strain on the healing of the oral cavity.

Looking for a new home

The charming tomcat will be placed for an expense allowance of 180 euros and with a protection contract from Katzenhilfe Katzenherzen e.V. Anyone interested can contact Karina Zeitler at the email address karina.zeitler@katzenherzen.de. The provider has a permit in accordance with Section 11 of the Animal Welfare Act and ensures that all legally required animal health measures are adhered to. Anyone who can offer Junior a loving home will be thrilled by his friendly nature and balanced character.

For anyone looking for an exceptional companion and willing to care for a special cat who has a lot of love to give despite health challenges, Junior is the perfect choice. Help him start a new chapter in his life!
