BMW M2 Racing celebrates class victory at the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring!

Nürburgring, Deutschland - The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring once again captivated motorsport enthusiasts. On June 26, 2025, FK Performance Motorsport and BMW M Motorsport celebrated an impressive class victory with the new BMW M2 Racing. You can proudly look back on the successful participation in racing, which was not only the prestigious SP3T class, but also the data collection for the further development of the vehicle, which is to be used in motorsport from 2026. The M2 racing was powered by the work pilots Ugo de Wilde, Jens Klingmann, Charles Weerts and the motorsport journalist Michael Bräutigam.

The BMW M2 Racing mastered the race without any noteworthy problems and, after 120 rounds, crossed the target flag at 4:03 p.m. with an impressive lead of 9 laps on the runner -up vehicle. This not only underlines reliability, but also the high potential of the new model. This powerful vehicle landed on the 36th place in the overall classification and left many other more powerful vehicles behind. At the same time, the class victory of the M2 was accompanied by the overall victory of the M4 GT3 EVO, which made the weekend successful for the team. Ugo de Wilde emphasized the driving pleasure, while Jens Klingmann proudly commented on the performance of the team.

A look at the overall ranking

A little different, however, the situation looked in the main ranking. BMW was able to look forward to the 21st overall victory in this legendary race. The No. 98 Rowe Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evo, dangers of Raffaele Marciello and other top pilots, was declared the winner after the originally leading Manthey-Porsche 911 GT3 R 992 received a 100-second penalty due to a collision with the Aston Martin GT4 of the Dörr team. This incident, which caused plenty of conversation, ensured that the Manthey Porsche did not finish the first in spite of 133 rounds.

This year's event attracted record numbers with 280,000 enthusiastic fans, which speaks for the great popularity of the race. There were numerous technical breakdowns, both at Mercedes-AMG, whose two vehicles left prematurely, as well as the two Porsche of Falken Motorsports, both of which ended the race early. Even the only Ferrari 296 GT3 had to give up due to a collision.

for FK Performance Motorsport is now the focus on the upcoming GT series of the ADAC, with upcoming races on the Norisring and the Nürburgring. Despite the challenges in advance, including the considerable damage to the BMW M4 GT4, which had to be repaired after two accidents, the team is confident and sees positive developments. The M4 GT4 was rated in the second position in the SP10 class, which is also considered great success.

At the crowning glory, some statistics show that BMW has now established an impressive record of 19 total victories in this classic, while Porsche is followed with 12 total victories. The 2025 race showed the full spectrum of motorsport: from high -altitude flights in performance to the inevitable setbacks due to technical problems and collisions.
